From the mountain station of the Luftseilbahn Fanas a singletrail passes high moor over alpine pastures uphill to Luderer Egg. On this ridge you turn sharply right into a wide basin, which you first cross downhill and then with constant ups and downs. Then it goes downhill longer to the Valser Bach, over which a small wooden bridge leads. Past Vordersäss it goes towards Golrosa. Here fantastic views open up of the Kirchlispitzen and Drusenfluh. At Fadurer Fürggli we switch to the other side of the mountain ridge, where a meadow path with many steep ascents leads back to the SE ridge of the Sassauna. Past the huts near Huoben it goes back over an alpine path to the mountain house Sassauna, which is located directly next to the starting point.

Suitable trailrunning shoes, backpack with drink (water or energy drink), food (bars, gels or maybe a sandwich with Prättigau mountain cheese and Bündnerfleisch?), wind jacket, mobile phone and emergency kit.
Via the A13 to Landquart, continue on the A28 to the exit towards Fanas. Drive through Grüsch and uphill to Fanas. In Fanas, follow the signpost to the cable car on foot.

To Landquart with the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), then change to the Rhaetian Railway (RhB) and take the S1 towards Schiers. Get off at Grüsch. Then take the post bus to Fanas (Luftseilbahn).
The Fanas cable car runs all year. Booking in advance is recommended especially on weekends and during the tourist high season.

The parking spaces directly at the valley station of the cable car are free for up to 10 hours. Please contact the cable car staff if you want to leave your car longer.

From the starting point at the mountain station of the Luftseilbahn Fanas, cross on an alpine path to the huts near Huoben. The following ascent to the Sassauna is tough: initially, it leads along a mountain ridge to a trail junction at 2000m. Here the path disappears, but if you head towards the SE ridge, you can’t go wrong. On the ridge the trail is visible again and winds steeply towards the summit. The descent via the west ridge is technically challenging and partly exposed, especially when wet. From Luderer Egg you can follow the described route... Treat yourself to a break on the terrace of the mountain inn Sassauna at the end.
