16 hike Pöllatal - Lanischalpe - Lanischsee lakes
Fotografie našich používateľov
From the Kochlöffelhütte to the Lieser diversion, the Torbach falls and the Lieser spring to the Ochsenhütte. From here onward to the Lanischsee lakes.
You can reach the Kochlöffelhütte in the Hintere Pöllatal either by car until 9 a.m. (the Pöllatal nature and landscape reserve is officially closed to all cars from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except authorized vehicles) by parking at the 2nd parking lot and starting the hike from there, or by taking the Tschu-Tschu-Bahn directly from Rennweg or from P1 (barbecue area) to the Kochlöffelhütte. On foot, you then proceed from parking lot 2 or the Kochlöffelhütte along forest road no. 16 to the Lanischalpe. The hike goes steadily uphill on a wide, winding forest road, passing the Lieser spring to the Ochsenhütte (herdsman's hut). From the Ochsenhütte we continue along a narrow hiking trail, passing the Lanisch waterfall. The trail now leads us along to the first Lanischsee. After another 20 minutes of uphill hiking, the second Lanischsee is reached. After a rest, we make our way back (the same route as the ascent). Finally, take the Tschu-Tschu-Bahn or car back to Rennweg or home.

From Rennweg, you either take the Tschu-Tschu-Bahn or the car to the Pöllatal. Note that you are only allowed to drive by car to the 1st parking lot (barbecue area) in the Pöllatal between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. (officially closed for all cars from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except if you have a driving permit from the municipality!). So either you drive by car before 9 a.m. to the 2nd parking lot or after 9 a.m. to the 1st parking lot (barbecue area) in the Pöllatal and then take the Tschu-Tschu-Bahn to the 2nd parking lot, or you go directly by Tschu-Tschu-Bahn from Rennweg to the 2nd parking lot in the Pöllatal. Note: return by car from the 2nd parking lot is only possible again after 5 p.m.

If you drive by car to the 1st parking lot (barbecue area) in the Pöllatal, there are plenty of parking spaces here.
If you take the Tschu-Tschu-Bahn to the Kochlöffelhütte in the Pöllatal, there are plenty of parking options directly in the center of Rennweg.
The Kochlöffelhütte is open in summer from early May to late October.
During this hike you truly become aware of the often-heard name "Valley of a Thousand Waters," as waterfalls fall from all slopes into the narrow valley floors from the rear Pöllatal to the Lanischalpe.
Since this is a day route, one should plan enough time for this hike or start early in the morning.
With the Katschberg Card or the Carinthia Card, the Tschu-Tschu-Bahn ride is free of charge.
