Tour de Gironde à vélo : étape 6 - Saint-Symphorien / Salles

This stage passes through the Parc Naturel Régional des Landes de Gascogne, with its immense pine forest planted by man, and the river Leyre, where you can take a refreshing break. Since the fires of 2022, there have been fewer trees in the landscape, but nature is quickly reclaiming its rights!
Great! This part of the route is a great opportunity for a swim or picnic: head for the Domaine Départemental Gérard Lagors. Ponds with supervised beaches in season, leisure activities and walks to stretch your legs.
We'd like to share with you our favorite, because a bit of art while pedaling can't hurt: works of art in the heart of nature line the route through the Forêt d'art Contemporain. You'll find one in François Mauriac's former vacation chalet in Saint-Symphorien and another right on the edge of the piste in Salles.
