Hike to viewing platform 5fingers

Hike to the viewing platform for the special kickFrom Obertraun you will conquer approx. 1 600 metres in altitude with the Dachstein Krippenstein cable car. Enjoy the fantastic view already here - first of all dense forest and then the beautiful karst landscape of the Dachstein Krippenstein. 

The hike begins directly at the mountain station. The well-maintained and signposted path leads to the right to the World Heritage viewing platform. The glacier presents itself beautifully in front of you and offers a great background for a souvenir photo.

Continue along a short ascent to the World Heritage Spiral and then turn left downhill to the viewing platform 5fingers.Here five differently designed footbridges - the 5fingers - await you.

Are you courageous and dare to go out? It takes a little effort, especially if you have chosen the footbridge with glass floor. You will be rewarded with wonderful views of Lake Hallstatt, Hallstatt and the Inner Salzkammergut.

Our tip: Take another two hours and visit the Dachstein Giant Ice Cave or the Mammoth Cave. You will be impressed! On hot summer days this excursion also provides the necessary refreshment.
