On a small hill, the Prodkopf entices as a viewpoint with unusual "furnishings": besides the traditional alpine cross and benches, there is a romantic swing and a wooden tower by the Dutch artist Floris Brasser. The wooden tower offers an even better view of the Bündner Herrschaft and the Rhine Valley. On the plateau, heading uphill, you enjoy a beautiful view of the Tamina Valley with the village of Valens, the Mapragg reservoir, and the imposing Haldensteiner Calanda (on the opposite side lies the village of Haldenstein and the Bündner cantonal capital Chur).
After the romantic walk through the snow-covered forest, you can enjoy one thing above all at the viewpoint: the peace away from the bustle and pause for a moment.
The Prodkopf is reachable on foot from Pardiel in about 15 minutes. The winter hiking trail starts directly at the top station of the gondola. From there, the path leads left along the conveyor belt and right past the ski school building slightly downhill. The Prodkopf warehouse is to our right, then we hike up the wooded hill until we stand directly in front of the wooden tower as a viewpoint. To return to Pardiel, we take the same path back as we came.
