The Kunstmuseum invites interested people to an exciting and inspiring dialogue with art.

The foundation of the Ravensburg Art Museum is the Peter and Gudrun Selinka Collection. The collection, which the former advertising consultant Peter Selinka (1924˗2006) assembled together with his wife within four decades, is one of the top-class private collections in southern Germany. In terms of profile, the collection follows the thread of an expressive-gestural tradition through the 20th century. The collection comprises around 230 works from the field of German Expressionism as well as the CoBrA and Spur groups.

Various temporary exhibitions on 20th and 21st century art complement the remarkable permanent presentation of the Peter and Gudrun Selinka Collection. The spectrum ranges from individual presentations and thematic exhibitions to well-known positions in contemporary art.

The Kunstmuseum Ravensburg was awarded the German Architecture Prize in 2013 and at the end of 2015 was named "Museum of the Year 2015" (AICA).
