The heart of the Pustertal valley

Bruneck combines wonderful characteristics of the region. The Tauferer Ahrntal valley and the Gadertal valley meet in the green Pustertal valley, where the Ahr river flows into the Rienz river. This is where fashionable flair meets true South Tyrolean characteristics reflected in architecture, cultural and leisure activities as well as in the mentality of the locals.

Easy to spot are Bruneck castle (located on a wooded hill) and Rainkirche church. If you go through one of the impressive town gates you will find yourself in the midst of a lively town. In 2009 it was named the best small town in Italy to live in.

Snowy peaks, dense forests, 120 km of pistes, 32 lifts and unlimited skiing - that is what Kronplatz, South Tyrol's most famous skiing area, has to offer. The resort overlooks the town of Bruneck, which is an excellent starting point to explore the Pustertal valley with its extensive network of hiking, mountain bike and cycle trails.
