This thematic route allows you to immerse yourself in the characteristic landscape of terraced vineyards featuring round-section stone pilun supporting wooden pergolas, showcasing the culture of excellent wine still produced. Secondary roads, paths, and small roads used by farmers are used to create a loop on the sunny side (therefore suitable for vineyards) of the mountain. The beauty of this offer also lies in the wonderful panorama of the surrounding mountains and the entrance to the nearby Aosta valley.
The walk also crosses the historic center of the village, allowing you to visit the main artistic and cultural highlights of the village such as the Chapel of San Rocco (17th century), the House of Music, the Parish Church of San Martino, the Chapel of the Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament, the Ugoneti Palace, and the medieval "Gran Masun".
You walk along via Torino towards the Aosta valley and just before the Esso petrol station on the right take the path (signposted "Vineyard Path"). Shortly after, turn left and then right reaching a long stone wall to follow (signposted paths 8 and 9, Via Francigena). Continue climbing some rocky terraces through scrub and vineyards to reach the church of San Rocco in a panoramic position. Continue among low walls and after a short steep descent reach the dirt road that crosses the vineyards. The road ends in the village and continuing on level ground you arrive at the junction with a historic granite fountain. Climb left and shortly after turn right near the parish church of San Martino. Continuing along the road you reach the fortified house called "Gran Masun" where you take a flat farm road. Continue until reaching the highest point corresponding to the chapel dedicated to San Grato: from here the descent begins.
Reach the locality of Piole and continue towards the village of Carema and just before entering it take a left fork on a path that leads to the main road to follow and in just over 50 m you arrive at the starting car park where the Nebbiolo di Carema Producers' Winery and its sales point are located.
