This circular hiking trail leads through many wooded areas near Oschatz: the city park, Oschatz city forest, Collmberg, and Oschatz church forest. On the Collm, the 18-meter-high freely accessible Albertturm offers a wonderful view over the northern Saxon land. At the foot of the mountain in Collm village, the 1000-year-old lime tree at the Collm cemetery can be admired. It is the oldest lime tree in Saxony, proudly 18 meters tall and has a trunk circumference of 11 meters.
The short hike leads from the city center of Oschatz to the Wüsten Schloss Osterland in the city forest. The history of the castle is not fully clarified to this day. The building is described as a "Romanesque hunting palace," was only used in the 13th century and then gradually fell into ruin. Today's ruins mainly consist of two 9.60 m high wall stumps and other wall remains. As a finale, a visit to the O-Schatz Park, a free-entry family, animal, and leisure park with a coffee pot collection that was once the largest in the world, and a beer garden or café is recommended.
Sturdy footwear or sports shoes, weatherproof clothing, possibly provisions and water.
