Großarl: Mooslehenalm – Niggeltalalm – Viehhausalm

At the Holzlehen transmission station stands the "Himmelsknoten". You can reach the Mooslehenalm via a forest road or a shortcut through the forest. Here, the scent of fresh blueberry dumplings rises to your nose and the children enjoy the playground. The route continues to the Niggeltalalm (Igltalalm). A beautiful waterwheel, which was once used for churning butter, is located by the brook in front of the hut. This alpine pasture is a paradise for children – a little brook and a small pond, a large playground as well as many small animals. After a refreshment, the path leads further to the Viehhausalm – a wonderful view of the Großarltal opens up. The alpine farmers spoil all hungry hikers with homemade delicacies. Here, too, the children will have fun. Especially the chamois swing and the climbing tree are very popular among the little guests. The descent takes place either on the hiking trail or via the forest road to the Mooslehenalm. Of course, a short rest including a refreshment is recommended here before finally returning to the starting point of the route. This hike can also be done exclusively on forest roads and is then pram-friendly!
