The scenic Adel and estates route passes four manor houses. But the coastal strip with the pier in Grömitz is also on the route.
With 98 meters in elevation, the Gömnitz height and the observation tower "Major" located there offer a great view of the sea and land.
Start at the pier, leaving Grömitz go up the Krähenberg, past the former Krähenberg estate, today a comfort hotel, towards Suxdorf and further on to Bentfeld. In Bentfeld, ride past the half-timbered farmyard to Klein Schlamin.
Ride through meadows and fields to Stolpe, further south you reach Kassau, a former Slavic village. Three kilometers further, pass Plunkau and the neighboring village of Gömnitz. Gömnitz, with 94m, has the third highest elevation in Ostholstein with its tower "Major," a former sea mark, from here you have a wonderful view of the Lübeck Bay and the moraine landscape of the Holstein Switzerland. The route then leads over the small village of Roge to Altenkrempe with the charming Sierhagen estate from the 12th century. Once a year, the Ambienta takes place here, where over 150 selected exhibitors present enchanting and practical things from the areas of living, garden, fashion, and accessories. Next to the Palm House Café is the old estate nursery with perennials, roses, and shrubs.
Through a dreamy landscape, you now ride to the Hasselburg cultural estate. A 300m long lime tree avenue and a subsequent access flanked by high walls lead through the gatehouse arch to the Hasselburg estate. The once protective moats still partially surround the complex and separate the main estate from the courtyard. The cultural barn regularly offers theater and music performances. A welcome guest is the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. Stay overnight in one of the puristic holiday apartments. Passing the three-aisled basilica in Altenkrempe, presumably dating from the 13th century, cycle on the Mönchsweg, a pilgrim route from Glückstadt to Puttgarden, to the Beusloe estate via the grounds of the Brodauer Mühle Golf Club. Only three kilometers further, the Brodau estate from the 15th century awaits you with the oldest half-timbered manor house in Schleswig-Holstein. The manor house has its own beach where you can rent a cottage for your next vacation. Still on the Mönchsweg, go over Bliesdorf, here cross the B501 at the restaurant of the same name towards Brenkenhagen. Turn right on the Mönchsweg and return to Grömitz.
A wind- and rainproof jacket is always recommended.
A roadworthy bicycle and helmet are required.
Take the A1 from Hamburg and Lübeck to the Pelzerhaken exit. Then take the B501 to Grömitz, where the start point is located directly at the pier in the center on the beach.

At the Sierhagen estate, you will find the Palm House Café, a great place to relax. Coffee and cakes taste excellent. The café, awarded by the magazine "Der Feinschmecker," offers the possibility to get married here or simply sit on the terrace in the sun and enjoy the beautiful view of the garden and fields.
