Ulrika route stage 1 - Unterstadion to Mittelbiberach

The starting point is the church in Unterstadion. It is the only one worldwide called the Ulrika Church. Inside is the "Ulrika niche," which contains a relic of the blessed Sister Ulrika. Next to it, in the former rectory, the "Ulrika Friends of Unterstadion" have set up the Ulrika parlor.

The chapel Maria Schnee below today's village church is the original preserved place where Sister Ulrika prayed as a child. Opposite stands the Ulrika fountain, which provides fresh drinking water.

The family house was demolished. Opposite the town hall, a small village square with a bubbling spring stone and cross was erected in honor of Ulrika at its stele. The Ulrika route passes directly there heading towards Oberstadion. The path leads through the historic village center of Oberstadion. Worth seeing are the Church of St. Martin from the 15th century and the nativity scene museum in the parish courtyard. Outside, past the agricultural estate Riedenhof, there is a magnificent view back towards Unterstadion from the forest edge above.

It continues through fields, very quiet forest sections, and smaller villages toward Rusenberg and Burrenwald. After a possible rest in the Burren inn, the path goes under the federal road towards the first stage destination Mittelbiberach. Shortly before Mittelbiberach-Oberdorf, the way passes quite close to a small wayside shrine, a favorite place of Sister Ulrika. The stage destination is the village church of St. Cornelius and Cyprian with the baptismal font and a relic of the blessed Sister Ulrika.
