The large forest parking lot at the hiking lodge is an ideal starting point for cycling and hiking. Past the agriculturally shaped districts of Spesshardt and Weltenschwann, the circular route leads to the village of Altburg with its numerous orchard meadows, where from afar the striking tower of the Martinskirche from the 12th century catches the eye.
The regular structures of the Waldhufen villages accompany cyclists between the idyllic locations Würzbach, Schmieh, and Emberg. The views on the plateau between the Nagold and Enz rivers invite repeated short enjoyment pauses and carry thoughts into the distance.
After a detour to the half-timbered town of Zavelstein with a visit to the 28 m high castle tower and a dreamlike view over the entire Teinach valley, it goes back to the parking lot in the Zavelstein crocus meadow nature reserve.

Bad Teinach station is located 3 km outside on the Nagold Valley Railway (cultural railway) from Pforzheim to Horb. On this railway line, modern railcars operate hourly with connections to the InterRegio network in Pforzheim and the ICE and IC networks in Karlsruhe. Good connections to all districts are ensured through bus service to Bad Teinach-Zavelstein and taxi service (Tel. 0 70 53 / 9 69 60). There is no ticket office at Bad Teinach station. The nearest ticket office is at Calw station (Calw travel center, Bischofstraße 10 in 75365 Calw, telephone 07051 2355, service hours Monday to Friday 08:00 to 18:00). More information: www.bahn.de
