Biofarm Gourmet Cycling Route through the Deggenhausertal

The starting point is the Lehenhof organic shop with a café, where you can first strengthen yourself with self-produced organic products – from fresh bread to homemade cake. Here begins your delightful journey through the valley. 

The next stop is the Bioland farm Steidle, an impressive family business operating on 80 hectares with a suckler cow herd, fattening pigs, chickens, fruit trees, cereal fields, and permanent grassland. In the 24-hour vending machine, you will find a wide range of fresh organic products such as meat, sausages, eggs, pasta, and apple juice, as well as award-winning spirits and liqueurs. Those who want to relax can stay overnight in the associated Gasthaus zum Sternen, with a Bioland-certified restaurant. 

After cycling for a while through the fairytale valley, you reach the municipality of Heiligenberg with its magnificent Renaissance castle and breathtaking views of Lake Constance. Then continue to Solawi Heiligenberg, which has been managing the nursery of the Camphill school community Föhrenbühl since 2020. Here you can admire the interplay of vegetable cultivation and sustainability on about 1.5 hectares – with greenhouses, foil tunnels, and herb beds that supply fresh vegetables to the region.

A short glance towards Heiligenberg reveals picturesque views before you reach the exciting educational project “Zukunftsfeld.” On a farm acquired in 2020 that had been shut down, a social agriculture with educational projects aimed at future-oriented management is being created here. After 35 kilometers, you reach the Lehenhof organic shop again, where your Biofarm Gourmet Cycling Route comes to a successful end.

Along the B31 towards Deggenhausertal
