The Hochfirst route impresses with wide panoramic views and cultural-historical highlights. It passes the natural attraction Crime Scene Adelheiden – a historically significant place with a true crime story, and at the “Did you know?” station, the stone crayfish is the main character. At the end, the lookout point on the Hochfirst overwhelms with a cross-border panoramic view: from Kloster Hegne over Reichenau Island to Switzerland. Here, the connection of important lakeside places across borders becomes tangible.
The Hochfirst route begins at the forest clearing near the parking lot at the "Zum Schwarzenberg" barbecue area. From here, the path leads past the inn "Zur Meisterklause", crosses the district road, and then continues left over the playground to the paddock of the horse farm.
After a short stretch through the forest, it continues on a meadow path, then right along the edge of the forest – with a view of the "old sports field." The path then goes straight through the forest, turns right and immediately left again until the natural attraction "Crime Scene Adelheiden" is reached. There once stood a small monastery whose origins are linked to a dark legend.
At the next intersection, continue right to the “Did you know?” station – there you learn fascinating facts about the stone crayfish, a silent ambassador of clear brooks. After a right-left curve, continue a few meters straight ahead, then a path branches off to the right into the forest. The ascent leads up to the natural attraction "Hochfirst", the namesake of the route.
Above the water reservoir, a spectacular view opens up of Kloster Hegne, Reichenau Island, and the Swiss Alpine panorama – illustrated by a detailed panoramic map. An information board illuminates the historical line of sight to significant personalities of the Untersee.
From the highest point of the tour, go downhill: right down to Schlossbergstraße, then left across the intersection onto Hirschweg. There, follow a narrow, tree-lined path to the natural attraction "Gnadenseeblick." An information board here provides fascinating insights into the legends and history of the Untersee. From there, the path leads right back to the starting point.
Sturdy footwear, rain, sun, and tick protection are recommended.
Along the B 33, exit Hegne
The Hegne train stop is accessible via the Seehas (local train). Bus line 203 (Konstanz-Allensbach-Hegne-Langenrain) stops at the "Kloster Hegne" station.
Free parking at the Schwarzenberg barbecue area
The Hochfirst route can be extended with the Mammut route to form a combined route of about 7.7 km. For this, follow the signage "Mammut route" at the Hegner sports ground.
