From Schlettermoos to the Juget cross

The small, rolled path that starts at the parking lot leads leisurely through a fairytale forest. After a short time, you reach a wider road. Cross this and the path continues straight ahead over a small hill. Turn right at the next junction. The path continues across snow-covered meadows in the direction of Siedelalpe. You will soon see the alp, which is open in summer, at an altitude of 1,026 meters. To reach it, turn left at the next fork in the path.

The legendary view, far above the Großer Alpsee in the middle of the winter landscape, over the partially frozen lake, can be enjoyed here all year round. The summit cross of the Jugethöhe, the Köpfle (1,024 m), can be seen to the right, which can still be climbed as an option. From this small hill, there is a wide view over the entire Alpsee-Grünten vacation region with its mountains, the Großer Alpsee lake and the residential town of Immenstadt.

Past the rustic alpine pasture, the path leads downhill towards the edge of the forest. There, the path runs through a long stretch of forest where absolute tranquillity reigns. With a bit of luck, you may spot hares whose tracks leave interesting imprints in the snow. As you experience nature, time and distance pass almost unnoticed.

After a while, the cross-country ski trail becomes visible just before the Pfarralpe, which is not used in the winter months. The cross-country ski trail is passed, then the winter trail follows a wide curve to the right to the Juget Alpe. This is open at weekends and during the vacations in the winter season. Once at the top, you have the opportunity to stop for a hot hunter's tea or a cup of mulled wine. Especially in winter, a visit to an alpine pasture is an atmospheric experience that is also popular with locals.

After a last look at the snow-covered surroundings, the way back leads along the familiar path back to the Schlettermoos parking lot.
