The hike leads you from the parking lot in front of the municipal office along the main street past kindergarten and primary school, old chestnut groves, an Icelandic horse stable and lush meadows to the ice ponds along the alder grove. Through its lush vegetation, shade and sun, as well as the rustling of the leaves in the wind, mystical impressions arise. Imagination knows no bounds. If you are lucky, according to legend, you might see the bog witch gathering herbs for her magic potion. Accompanied by the uniqueness of the orchard meadows, the mystical ice ponds, the magnificent overhangs on Hochbergstraße and the view of Forchtenstein Castle, this hike in the beautiful nature, for you and your family, is always an experience. This route is barrier-free and particularly suitable for families with small children and babies.
You park at the municipal office in Forchtenstein and start down the main street towards the kindergarten. Opposite the mortuary, turn into Antonigasse, keep following the street until you cross the Gaisbachbach. There, keep slightly right along the alder grove to the ice ponds. Leave the Satzlweg fork on the left and continue towards the ford to Hochbergstraße. Once you reach the Hochbergbach, choose the well-maintained unpaved Kreitenweg to the fork at Berggasse. Once there, keep right again and walk parallel to the Kreitenweg along Hochbergstraße back to the ford with the bridge and hike back to the starting point of the circular walk.
