Whether you want to eat out or simply breathe in the mountain air - in five minutes, the Karren cable car takes you high above the roofs of the town and gives you a wonderful view: the entire border triangle by day, the sea of lights by night.

Karren edge with selfie point
Dornbirn's local mountain has a twelve metre long footbridge, the Karren-Kante with selfie point. Visitors can enjoy an impressive panoramic view from the viewing platform. Standing ‘in the void’, so to speak, the view from the ridge sweeps over the vastness of the Rhine Valley, Lake Constance, past the Swiss mountains and deep into the Vorarlberg Oberland. Take a photo of yourself in front of the Rhine Valley Panorama - it's easy with the selfie point. Press the buzzer and your personalised selfie is ready.

Viewpoint with adventure telescope
At the viewing point below the guest garden, visitors can playfully explore the surrounding mountains and landscapes through a free adventure telescope.

At an altitude of 976 metres, not only the excellent cuisine, but also the special atmosphere at a lofty height with a fantastic view over the Rhine Valley, Lake Constance and the Swiss mountains guarantee great enjoyment in every respect. Whether by day or by night, in summer or in winter - a visit to the panorama restaurant high above the rooftops of the city is always an experience. From culinary night owls to hungry hikers, from family celebrations to company parties - the Panorama Restaurant always offers the right ambience for every visitor. Younger guests can look forward to a children's menu, colouring and toys as well as a playground on the sun terrace.

Opening times of the Karren cable car / panorama restaurant
The cable car runs every 15 minutes on the quarter hour. Please note: In spring and autumn, statutory maintenance work takes place. During this time, the Karren cable car and the panorama restaurant remain closed.

Travelling by car
Exit Dornbirn Süd, Exit 18 - take the L 204 (Lustenauerstraße) towards the centre - after 2.2 km cross the junction with the L 190 - continue straight on - follow the signs to the Karren.

Travelling by bus
City bus line 207 (from 1.5. - 31.10.) or country bus line 177 from Dornbirn railway station to the bus stop Karrenseilbahn Talstation
