Cycling route Zgornje Jezersko–Ankova planina–Zgornje Jezersko

At first, we share the road with road cyclists whose goal is to reach Jezerski vrh, but our goal is even further. Before the ascent, in the valley at a designated point near the road, you can fill up with Jezerska slatina, a characteristic local mineral water high in magnesium (but beware, the recommended daily amount is a maximum of 2 dcl, so we suggest filling water when returning home). On the way to Jezerski vrh, you can rest at a viewpoint with a panoramic board. When we reach the former border crossing, between Slovenian and Austrian border facilities, we turn left, where a shorter and steeper ascent follows. Soon we are rewarded with a magnificent view of the Ravenska Kočna valley and the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. A little further on, you can already look out over the entire Jezersko valley, Veliki vrh, Kozji vrh, and Storžič. The views practically call for a longer stop. We continue on a gentler road to Ankova planina, where we stop at the former military barracks. We return the same way, but suggest stopping at the Church of St. Andrew and the nearby tourist farm Šenkova farmhouse on the way back down to the valley.
