It has long been a fine tradition for Thüringenforst, Rennsteigjägerschaft and the ‘Bürgerstuben’ restaurant to join forces - and not just for a cosy afternoon of food and drink.
The organisers are particularly keen to instil a love of local nature in children and young people. The ‘Lernort Natur’ information vehicle from the Thuringian Hunting Association will be on hand to provide extensive, illustrative information. The Thuringian Forestry Office Neuhaus am Rennweg will be joining the festivities with a nature experience trail, where adults can also learn something new.
From 2 p.m., younger guests can prove their talent at western riding. Of course, there is also a painting and craft trail as well as the opportunity to be ‘beautified’ with face painting. Around 3 p.m., the Steppkes from the Lauscha AWO kindergarten ‘Hüttengeister’ will present a colourful programme.
The Lauschenstein yodellers and the Rennsteig hunters' hunting horn blowers will also be making musical contributions. Under the motto ‘Game on game’, we will be providing lots of information about high-quality venison and, of course, the corresponding food. There will be wild boar on a spit from around 4 pm - another tradition.
Hunters, anglers and hiking enthusiasts will also find a suitable range of clothing and equipment. A local beekeeper offers honey and honey cosmetics, there are home-made ice cream specialities, freshly tapped beer from the tap wagon and sausages from the charcoal grill.
As every year, another highlight is our big raffle with over 300 prizes to be won. Once again this year, the net proceeds will go to the kindergartens in Lauscha and Steinheid.
So: off to Lauscha, ELIAS-Farbglashütte!!!
