Welcome to Lichtenau!

In the middle of southern Waldviertel, situated between Zwettl and Krems, you find the village Lichtenau embedded in a great varied cultural landscape.

The attractive nature invites you to go hiking and cycling. Further there are many sights to explore, numerous leisure facilities and events offer you a large range for holiday planning and day trips.

Worth seeing:
The "Karikaturengarten Brunn am Wald" in the former castle park in Brunn, which is unique in Austria, shows perfect garden architecture, sculptures and objects by numerous Austrian and international artists, funny things and caricatures in a classic harmony. Embedded is an open-air gallery in which constantly changing artists exhibit.
The museum "Der Bauer als Selbstversorger", the "Künstlergarten Wietzen" with its 50 stone sculptures and the "Blumendorf Ebergersch" ("flower village") are also worth a visit.
