SV_28 Itinerario ciclopedonale da Varazze ad Arenzano

Lungomare Europa, by a short tunnel, passes underneath ss n. 1 Aurelia and shortly takes to the sea where it joins the first stretch of sea promenade which was once a railway. In the first stretch you walk by two beaches but the landscape soon becomes rocky. The road is characterised by a succession of several tunnels and beautiful glimpses on little rocky bays, all easily accessible from the road. In about 4 km the road reaches Cogoleto's most western beach and by a bridge on the Arrestra stream and a short deviation to the right, it turns off the old train track to join the sea promenade. In about 3 km you cross the Lerone stream and join the old railway again which is here dedicated to Fabrizio De Andre'. After c. 2 km, passing long tunnels and some nice stretches of cliff, you reach the little harbour of Arenzano. Once you reach the strada statale Aurelia keep the right to the promenade, which is 2 km long too. At a traffic light in Arenzano centre, turning left the road heads to the train station.
