Habsburg Route 5th stage: Mellingen - Bremgarten

Along the right bank of the Reuss, alternating in the shelter of the cooling forest and over sunny fields, the path reaches the bridge to the peaceful Gnadental monastery with animal enclosures, gardens, and restaurants inviting you to relax.

Walking through the uniquely meandering natural river landscape, various plant species and a wide range of animal species that have found a habitat in the floodplains impress.
Once established by the Habsburgs according to a predetermined settlement plan, Bremgarten received city rights around 1240. Shortly afterwards, the still lively tradition of market trading emerged.
