Ferry

After a short stretch from Murgenthal train station to the Aare bridge, go down the stairs in front of the bridge and reach a hiking trail. Then, walk along the Aare riverbank upstream towards Wynau. The wide natural road passes by the edge of the village and the church of Wynau; on the right side you always have a magnificent view of the Jura chain. You reach the point where a ferry crosses the Aare, but continue walking until you reach the EW Wynau. From there, you reach the other side of the Aare via a footbridge. Then, follow a unfortunately asphalted road to the restaurant "Zur Fähre"; its garden pub invites you to a drink. Since the Aare ferry is operated by the innkeeper of the restaurant, you can arrange the desired crossing time with him. Back on the other side of the river, walk on the well-known Aare trail back to Murgenthal train station.

Note(s)
The ferry is not operated all year round. It is therefore advisable to make an inquiry in advance (062 926 18 31).
