This hike leads along idyllic natural paths, past irises, beaver lodges, and cozy shady spots. A nature experience for young and old. A refreshing break is offered at the Biobad in Biberstein. The pool is filtered biologically, giving the water a greenish color and softness. With some luck, you might spot fish and frogs in the nearby purification basin.
After a refreshment at the Biobad, the class visits the patrician Effinger family at Wildegg Castle - a thematic guided tour of the castle rooms is highly recommended. A visit to the impressive garden grounds is also very worthwhile.
Take the train to Aarau station, where the trip begins. On natural paths, the hike leads through the idyllic floodplain landscape of the Aare, past irises, beaver lodges, and cozy shady spots. A refreshing break is available at the Biobad in Biberstein.
The path leads past the Rupperswil-Auenstein power plant and the associated reservoir through beautiful, renaturalized floodplain landscapes to Wildegg. After climbing up to Wildegg Castle, you will be rewarded with a view. From the castle, it is about a 15-minute walk to Wildegg train station.
