Lumbier Gorge

Start: Lumbier / Irunberri Reception and Information Area, located 1.5 km from the village (paid parking / reservation possible). Recreational area and fountain. After 200 meters along the old route of the Irati railroad, start panel at the entrance to the gorge. Ascend to the left on a path between kermes oak and scrubland until you reach the top, open and overlooking the Sierra de Leire. Descend down the opposite slope along a wide path to the track of a quarry (attention: trucks) and 500 meters later, go down to the right along a narrow path (loose stones) and views of the Irati River to the wide and flat route of the old railroad, which continues to the tunnel at the southern entrance of the gorge (attention: for safety reasons, it is not recommended to visit the Devil's Bridge). Cross the tunnel and continue 1.5 km along the banks of the river along the old railroad and, after a new tunnel, reach the starting point.

SIGNS: Marked out with white and green markings, of Local Path SL NA-113, although it does not consider its re-homologation. Start panel and directional posts. In the lafoz section, informative elements (with QR code) along the route. Depostable Way of St. James Way markers along the old railroad line (p.k. 4).

WARNING: Wild boar hunting area outside the protected area, be careful from August to February.
