Worth seeing:
Pöggstall Castle - in 2017 it was the venue of the Lower Austrian state exhibition "Everything that is right" - it houses a museum about legal history including the only "original" torture chamber and a documentation about the life and work of the artist Franz Traunfellner. Equally exciting is the special exhibition "Pöggstall Castle - between region and imperial court" in the barbican, which tells of the eventful restoration, significant finds, and astonishing stories about the castle lords. A 3D animation vividly shows how the bergfried or the later castle grows from its original layout to its current form.

Worth seeing in addition to Pöggstall Castle with its barbican (rondel) are also the very old St. Anna Church in the field (1140), the parish church Pöggstall, and the pilgrimage church in Neukirchen (1118) on the Ostrong, which is older as a pilgrimage church than Maria Taferl.

Leisure tips:
4 tennis courts, beach volleyball court, football field, a covered multisport facility, playgrounds, campsite, mountain bike and cycling routes, fishing and riding opportunities, Pferdehof Laas, Texas Longhorn Austria, Hotglass Atelier Faffelberger, Kräuterhof Schrammel, brand painting Josef Mitmasser.

From the church square in Neukirchen, you hike towards Arndorf. At the town's edge, turn right and reach Oberhohenau. Here there is a beautiful view to the north of the opposite side of the Pöggstall basin. Then the farm track branches off to the left, leading you into the forest to a crossing above the Schweiger house with 2 distinctive "mobile phone transmitters". Continue left on the farm track into the village of Zöbring. After the village, the path turns left onto a field path, which soon becomes surrounded by forest. It leads you to the village of Gsteinert, where you meet the country road that leads back over Arndorf to Neukirchen.

A1 to Melk exit - drive over the Danube on the B3a and switch to the B3 and drive to Weitenegg - here switch to the B216 and drive to Eitental - drive on the L7223 Seiterndorf and on the L7226 to Neukirchen
