If you want to explore the beautiful market town of Edlitz on a leisurely walk, you can do so on the "Plaudermarkt" circular hiking trail. The town center is easily accessible both by public transport and by car and is an ideal starting point for a hike through Edlitz. Here you pass a Nah und Frisch Mark, a Raiffeisen bank, the municipal office and the schools. The Nepomuk Chapel is also right on the way. A visit to the beautiful, late Gothic fortified church in Edlitz and the interesting and informative introductory documentation of the Wehrkichenstraße is definitely worthwhile. The "Bucklige Welt" fortified church route starts in Edlitz and leads past the beautiful fortified churches of Krumbach, Hochneukirchen, Bad Schönau, Kirchschlag, Lichtenegg, Hollenthon, Wiesmath, Hochwolkersdorf, Bromberg, Lanzenkirchen and Katzelsdorf. The Plauermarkt loop then takes you along the Edlitzbach stream and along beautiful forest paths, past the sports field and back to the village. The trail is suitable for young and old due to its short and rather flat route. However, the forest path is not suitable for baby carriages.
You can follow the orange trail marker "K1".
The starting point is in the town center at the community center. From there, head east towards Markt. Then continue left along the federal road and along the Edlitzbach. Next, turn right onto Königsberg. On this path, a trail branches off to the right, which you follow. At the first fork, turn right and keep going straight until you reach the town center again via Markt.
The circular route can also be walked from the other direction.
Always take suitable maps with you. Wear sturdy shoes adapted to the route, take sun and rain protection, as well as water and a snack. Take your mobile phone and save the mountain rescue emergency number: 140

Make sure when choosing the route that it matches your experience and fitness. Check the weather forecast in advance. Weather in the mountains can change very quickly and unexpectedly. So always start out properly equipped (e.g., rain protection).
Check whether the huts and snack stations you want to visit are open. Inform someone about your route choice and planned return before you set out.

From Vienna: Take the South Motorway A2, exit at Edlitz. Drive towards Edlitz. Turn left onto Kirchschlager Str./B55. Continue on B55 to Edlitz. Turn left onto Markt.
From Graz: Take the South Motorway A2, exit at Grimmenstein. Drive towards Grimmenstein. Keep right at the fork and continue on Wechsel Str./B54. After Edlitz-Grimmenstein station, turn left onto Kirchschlager Str./B55. Continue on B55 to Edlitz and turn left onto Markt.
