Windischgarsten from Molln (Bodinggraben, Jagahäusl), riding tour

From the Scheiblingau parking lot, follow the gravel road about 1.5 kilometers into the Bodinggraben, one of the most beautiful valley closures of the Eastern Alps. In the Bodinggraben the valley opens up and the picturesque building complex of the former Counts of Lamberg with the managed Jagahäusl, the Adjunktenstöckl, the Rosaliakapelle, and the forester's house Bodinggraben welcomes the surprised visitor. Past the Jagahäusl, ride about 200 meters to the Schwarzgraben parking lot, here turn left onto the forest road leading uphill towards Steyrsteg/Windischgarsten.

After about 3 kilometers, the "Steyrsteg" begins, a narrow path. Here it is absolutely necessary to dismount and lead the horse!

Afterwards, you reach the Steyrsteg bivouac site, a good resting place. Then continue along the Rumpelmayerbach creek slightly uphill to Haslersgatter at 1154 meters elevation and downhill to Windischgarsten.
