PASSA MERIDIA N° 15 - SERVIES / FAGAIROLLES

Serviès parking: Take again the track used the day before to climb to the Col de Serviès. Take the first track on the right to head towards the Col d’Ernest. Enter the Haut-Dourdou state forest and continue on the main track for 3 km. At a fork, take the left uphill track and then 250 m later descend on the right track towards the Col de la Font (View over Caroux, Mare Valley and Croix de Marcou).

Col de la Font: 2. Take the D52 to the right for 150 m and turn left into the fir trees to descend towards the Col du Layrac (Alt. 765 m). Follow the road for 50 m and take the left uphill path to the green DFCI barrier. Continue for 1 km to connect to the D52. (Viewpoint!!!)

D52 connection: At the road, continue on the shoulder straight ahead for 50 m, pass the picnic table and take the parallel path after the green barrier. Continue through the undergrowth for 800 m towards Plo Auriol. Cross a meadow and take the path going up through a beech forest to reach the Col de Marcou (Alt 980 m).

Col de Marcou: At the col junction, take the descending track on the right passing in front of the Croix de Béziat. At the concrete platform over the stream, continue on the left track. After 500 m, fork left and climb a hairpin then continue on the right track. At the first fork, climb right and then continue descending on the main track for 3.5 km to reach the D12.

D12 connection: At the D12, go left and head along the road (Attention!) towards the Col du Coustel (Alt 883m). Just after the sign, take the right path along fields. Continue straight through the forest for 3.5 km to exit at the entrance of the hamlet of Fagairolles. Descend 50 m to reach the stage lodge.
