Sentier des deux Puechs

This valley is a place full of history. Cupules, small holes, well rounded and regular, carved on strange rocks. The Castelas Cayribel and Miribel, permanent miner habitats or refuge places? Defensive fortifications?
Today, these wild valleys are designated as “Sensitive Natural Areas,” a classification by the Tarn Department aimed at preserving, experimenting with, and highlighting the biodiversity of Tarn’s heritage natural environments.
The classification of this long valley is justified by its "preserved" character; it still serves as a refuge valley for animals, hosting many species already found in the Tarn valley: the Black Woodpecker, Dipper, Hobby Falcon, Sparrowhawk, Roe Deer, Wild Boar, and Genet.
Did you know? The wandering, graceful, joyful brown trout has colonized these fresh waters. Suddenly lively and clever, it flees.
