Leaving Cuorgnè you pass by the Sacro Monte di Belmonte, the newest among the Piedmont Sacred Mountains included in the UNESCO site. Rivara has its highlight in the Castle of Rivara, an architectural jewel located in a dominant position over the village and recalling its historic importance. Vauda Canavese represents one of the last large Piedmont heaths, meadows, bushes and woods of birches, pines and oaks are the rare and precious habitat for many species of flora and fauna. It is recognized as one of the last Piedmont heaths, a perfect destination for those seeking contact with nature and wanting to discover one of the lesser-known but very fascinating corners of Canavese. For track cycling enthusiasts, a visit to the Velodrome of San Francesco al Campo, a sports facility of great significance due to its long history and capacity to host high-level competitions, is a must.
HELMET: Although not mandatory, we strongly recommend the use of a helmet
TIRES: Check that the wheels are properly inflated, the importance of tire pressure is often underestimated as it increases safety and makes pedaling smoother
LIGHTS: If you plan to cycle at dusk or at night, make sure you have front and rear lights, as well as reflectors.
CLOTHING: Bright or reflective clothing is recommended to be more visible to other vehicles.
EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT: Bring a spare inner tube, a pump (or a CO2 cartridge) and tire levers to remove the tire. A small tool kit may come in handy.
ROAD RULES: Follow road signs, always ride on the right side of the lane and signal your intentions to other road users.
WEATHER: Check the weather forecast before leaving to avoid adverse weather conditions. In summer months it is advisable to use sunscreen to protect from UV rays.
