Saint Bernard Trail | Stage 9 Momo (Holy Trinity) – Novara Cathedral

The church's artistic interest lies in the extensive pictorial works created by painter Giovanni de’ Campo and painters from his workshop, one of the most important active in the Novara area during those years. The date (1461) and the commissioning name, Jacobinus de Frano, are known, with the specific date being “MCCCCLXI de mense septembris.”

You then arrive at the Church of San Salvatore in Caltignaga, with a view of the castle. Around the years 1362-63, the building was damaged by the troops of the Compagnia Bianca led by Alberto Sterz. In 1449, Francesco Sforza assigned the feudal rights of Caltignaga to the Novara family of Caccia.
