BARDONECCHIA Monte Jafferau

From Bardonecchia, reach the Bacini Frejusia parking lot by car. Head towards the cable car arrival and, just before the hotel, take the trail on the right that climbs diagonally along the ski slope 37-Primavera; follow it until you reach the 6 Gigante chairlift. Continue on the mule track that ascends with many hairpin bends up to the Ban chairlift arrival and then to Monte Jafferau.

Return along the same route to the 6 Gigante chairlift and follow the mule track that descends to the Belvedere Hotel, the cable car (refreshment point), and then back to Bacini Frejusia.

Attention: the Monte Jafferau carriage road is regulated for motor vehicles.

By car:

- A32 motorway Turin - Bardonecchia, Bardonecchia exit

- State Road 24: Turin - Oulx and then State Road 335: Oulx - Bardonecchia

Once you reach Bardonecchia, head towards the hamlets of Millaures and Le Gleise, pass them, and reach Bacini Frejusia (7 km).

By train:

- line Turin Porta Nuova - Bardonecchia

Once you reach Bardonecchia, in summer, from Via Torino (100 m from the train station) take the free Line 7 shuttle to the Jafferau square from where the cable car departs.

WARNING: the shuttle and cable car are only active for about one month between July and August in summer

There is a large dirt clearing at Bacini Frejusia.

Bring water with you; there are no fountains along the route

Have a picnic at Forte Jafferau and enjoy the view over the valley.

Forte dello Jafferau, at 2800 meters elevation, is the highest in Italy. Along with the Foens and Pramand forts, it is located along the former military road 79 that connects Bardonecchia, Oulx, and Salbertrand at altitude.
