The route starts from the hills of Belveglio and heads south for about 7 km, arriving in the territories of Vinchio, famous for its wine production and its wine-related events. Vinchio is a crossroads of roads of Roman origin and is renowned for its vineyards of white and red grapes. The natural area of Val Sarmassa is of considerable importance for its paleontological, naturalistic and historical-literary characteristics, being the setting of many stories by Davide Lajolo, a well-known writer born in Vinchio. The route continues through the Vinchio area up to the Noche hamlet, from where it is possible to take the 3A variant that leads to San Marzano Oliveto. The stage continues for approximately 6.5 km to the historic center of Castelnuovo Calcea, whose name derives from the Latin roots for "new camp" and "rammed road", indicating its Roman past. The country has a history dating back to 948 AD. and saw the domination of various peoples (Gauls, Celts, Lombards, Franks), before becoming part of the Duchy of Milan in 1735 and subsequently passing to the House of Savoy. Castelnuovo Calcea offers breathtaking views of the hills planted with vines, which produce renowned wines such as Barbera, Grignolino, Cortese and Dolcetto.
