From Burrweiler, we first hike to the St. Anna Hut. On shady paths, we then go along the slopes of the Teufelsberg to the Trifelsblick Hut. Here we can enjoy the wonderful panorama from the terrace that gives the hut its name. Comfortable paths through beautiful mixed forests take us over Dreimärker to the next refreshment stop, the Ramberger Waldhaus, where a snack or a piece of cake gives us strength for the next stage. On a charming forest path, we finally reach the impressive Neuscharfeneck ruin, destroyed during the Thirty Years' War.
From the ruin, it is not far to the idyllic Landauer Hut in the forest with its numerous shady outdoor seating areas. From here, we set off on the circular hike around the Orensberg. The unique 270° panorama from the large rock platform of the Orensfels rewards us for the effort of the ascent. Afterwards, we descend past the Landauer Hut and the Dernbacher Haus to Dernbach.

On the seventh Pfälzer Weinsteig stage, we get to know four more idyllic huts of the Pfälzerwald Club. Just before the Landauer Hut, a visit to the Neuscharfeneck ruin is worthwhile. From the shield wall, you have a magnificent panoramic view over the Palatinate Forest-North Vosges Biosphere Reserve. In addition, on the particularly scenic circuit around the Orensberg, we discover one of the most beautiful views of the Palatinate Forest and the Rhine plain.
From Burrweiler, we first return on the Kreuzweg known from the previous day to the St. Anna Hut (PWV). On shady paths, we then go along the slopes of the Teufelsberg to the Trifelsblick Hut (PWV) at 550 m elevation. Here we can enjoy the wonderful panorama from the terrace, which gives the hut its name. The view extends over Trifels Castle far into the Wasgau and the Vosges. Comfortable paths through beautiful mixed forests take us along the Teufelsberg and Roßberg down to the next place to refresh ourselves, the Ramberger Waldhaus (PWV), where a snack or a piece of cake gives us strength for the hike ahead. On a charming forest path, we finally reach the impressive Neuscharfeneck ruin, destroyed during the Thirty Years' War.
From the ruin, it is not far to the idyllic Landauer Hut (PWV) located in the forest, with numerous shady outdoor seating areas. Here, too, we can satisfy our hunger and thirst before setting off on the circular hike around the Orensberg. The unique 270° panorama from the large rock platform of the Orensfels rewards us for the effort of the ascent. Afterwards, we descend past the Landauer Hut (PWV) and the attractively situated Dernbacher Haus inn to the small village of Dernbach.

For our hiking tours, we recommend the following equipment as standard:
Sturdy footwear Clothing adapted to the weather Sun and rain protection Sufficient supply of food and drinks, as there are not always catering or shopping facilities available or open. Although the paths are very well marked throughout, for safety reasons it is always advisable to carry a suitable hiking map, so that you can quickly find a safe area, for example during a thunderstorm or emergency.Hiking on natural paths and trails - Especially in autumn, take care that fallen leaves on the ground can hide unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. After thunderstorms or heavy rain, trees can still fall or branches drop afterwards. Especially in adverse weather conditions, natural paths may have muddy and slippery sections. Not all rocks or precipices are secured with ropes or railings. Sure-footedness is sometimes required. You must expect such path impairments when hiking. If you consider certain path sections impassable for you, you should avoid them. Despite the “unmissable” marking of the premium hiking trails, we recommend always carrying a suitable map for safety reasons, so that you can quickly get to a safe place in case of a thunderstorm or emergency. Path closures and detours must be strictly observed.
Emergency situations - In an emergency, quick help is needed. Even though mobile phones can send GPS signals, classic rescue points are often the fastest. These are located at places easily accessible for rescue vehicles. Remember the points with the green signs and a white cross. In an emergency, return there and give the number on the sign in your emergency call. This way, rescue forces know where to find you.
