An outing for the whole family. The 18 km circular route is also suitable for less experienced cyclists, as there are few altitude meters to overcome and for the most part, cycling is on paths through nature or on country roads next to the street. Starting from Maikammer, the route goes through idyllic Kirrweiler and then to Vennigen. In Venningen, a visit to the Doktorenhof is a culinary experience. The tour continues via Edenkoben and St. Martin with its medieval town centre back to the starting point.
From Maikammer-Kirrweiler train station, it is only a short way to the start of the circular route Fassbodentour 6. It starts along the main street towards the center of Kirrweiler. After 1 kilometer, turn right onto Im Lettenfeld street and immediately left onto Gartenstraße, which after a few meters meets Am Schlossgarten street. Here turn right and the circular route begins.
Following the course of Am Schlossgarten street, turn left into Edenkobener Weg, which ends at L 542; follow this road to the right towards Venningen. After nearly 500 meters, at the sports field, cross the street and continue on a comfortable bike path on the left side next to the street to the entrance of Venningen.
In Venningen, go straight through the roundabout and along the main street through the town, past the exit and the sports field. After about 250 meters, turn right at a field cross onto a paved country road, then follow the bike path signs towards Edenkoben. Now about 1.5 kilometers, then over the highway and after another 1.5 kilometers and crossing the L 516, Edenkoben is reached.
In Edenkoben, ride along Blücherstraße to the end. Then turn right into Edesheimer Straße and after only a few meters cross Bahnhofstraße and go into Tanzstraße. Now turn right over Paul-Gillet-Platz and then right for about 40 meters along the Deutsche Weinstraße. Now left into Poststraße and immediately right into Radeburgerstraße up to a branching main road and turn left into Klosterstraße. After about 1 kilometer, passing the artist house and the former Heilsbruck Monastery, you come to a junction where five paths branch off. Take the half-right branch, the second paved path on the right. After a few meters, immediately right again and 1 kilometer through the sea of vines to L 514, just before St. Martin.
Just before the country road, turn left at a picnic area and immediately right again, past the historic wine press to Edenkobener Straße. Here left, then straight ahead until Hornbrücke street branches to the right. On Maikammerer Straße turn left and then right into Friedhofstraße. At the end of Friedhofstraße, follow Totenkopfstraße to the left for 150 meters and then sharply right into Jahnstraße. After the buildings, continue through the vineyards to the Alsterweiler stream. Turn right here and ride along the stream to the Alsterweiler Chapel. At this point, turn right and ride downhill on Hartmannstraße until Friedhofstraße branches off on the right. This meets St. Martiner Straße. Here turn left and continue straight over L 512 into Marktstraße, past the local wine shop "Weinkammer." At the next intersection, turn right into Frantzplatz street. This leads into Immengartenstraße and then merges into Weinstraße-Süd. Follow this street to the town exit. Just before the roundabout, use the crossing aid and change sides of the street. Also cross K 32 and then ride left alongside L 512 on the bike path to the next left turn. Now follows a straight stretch through nature over L 516 and the A 65 highway.
Heading towards Kirrweiler, immediately after the highway bridge, turn left and follow a short path parallel to the highway until the next paved path to the right. The next possibility is left, directly to Schlossweiher. At the pond, turn right and immediately right again past a beautiful playground to the starting point at Am Schlossgarten street. Here turn left and take the same way back to the main street and to Maikammer-Kirrweiler train station as on the way out.

This circular route is particularly beautiful in spring when nature awakens or in autumn when the vineyard leaves turn colorful after the grape harvest.
