Blockline stage 01: Holzhau " Neuhermsdorf

The BLOCKLINE is located in the east of the Ore Mountains - between Seiffen, world-famous for its wood art, and the winter sports center Altenberg. Dresden is 45 minutes away by car. Prague is 90 minutes away and Leipzig 1:45 hours. Bayreuth and Erfurt are both 2:30 hours away, Berlin and Magdeburg three hours.

It is also possible to travel to the BLOCKLINE by bike:

From the mountain town of Freiberg on the Mulderadweg, Freiberg- Holzhau section. You can join the BLOCKLINE from Mulda, where you can get on the BLOCKLINE directly and discover several stages of the bike adventure.

In the west, all stations between Mulda (Saxony) and Holzhau Skilift are suitable for accessing the Blockline. Geising and Altenberg are the stations in the east of the route.

The Freiberg Railway runs between Freiberg and Holzhau. Other stations are located in Mulda and Nassau. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, the train also runs every hour during the day, starting at 07:40 in Freiberg, with the last train back in Freiberg at 21:15. From 15:40, trains run every 2 hours.Please refer to the timetables for the exact departure times. Bicycles can be taken on the Freiberg Railway trains free of charge, but please book in advance as capacities are limited.

In Freiberg you have connections to the Mitteldeutsche Regiobahn trains to Chemnitz and Dresden as well as to the city bus in front of the station.
