The hike leads from the train station along the path marked with yellow horizontal stripes towards Reichstädt/Pretzschendorf. After a short section of road, the signpost points left. On this so-called lime kiln path we reach the rural Reichstädt, one of the longest villages in Saxony. We continue following the yellow marking, passing the Drutschmann sheep farm and spinning room with farm shop, the workshop of potter Grit Bormann, and Reichstädt Castle with castle park. After a short section on Beerwalder Street, the path leaves the previous marking and follows the signpost towards Berreuth. After a few meters, Ruppendorfer Street is reached, which our path follows 100 m to the left. At the Berreuth signpost, a farm track leads right to Schafberg, which offers a good panoramic view. The route continues towards Berreuth to the edge of the forest. The path turns right there, again right at the forest edge and then straight on into the locality of Berreuth. Here a few meters to the right and then before the kindergarten to the left, over the Reichstädt stream and up to the road. After a short stretch on the road, a path branches left in the steep right curve. Immediately to the right is a bench with a nice view of Dippoldiswalde. Down a meadow path, the starting point of the hike is reached again.
Arriving at Dippoldiswalde train station, start your hike. At Reichstädter Street, keep left, cross the train tracks, and walk straight towards the town exit. In a slight right curve, a hiking trail with white/yellow marking branches off to the left. Follow this and pass the former “Old Lime Kiln.” On the path “Am Dorfbach,” you see to the right the Drutschmann sheep farm and spinning room (where you can book various spinning, weaving, or felting courses or buy fresh farm products or wool items in the farm shop). Continue to Obercarsdorfer Street, which you cross. At the end, turn right and walk along the main street. Ahead are the village church, the castle, and the artists' house with the Lilith gallery; slightly to the left is a pottery. You walk parallel to Ruppendorfer Street, which is on your right. At the end of the path, follow it a bit to a left curve. Here the hiking trail branches off; follow it below the industrial area towards Schafberg. At the end of the path, turn left towards Schwarzbusch. Upon arriving at the forest edge, walk right below it until reaching Marktsteig (Mordsteig). At this point, turn right towards Berreuth. On Berreuther Street, keep left. Passing the Drutschmann sheep barn and the castle park with pond, walk towards Dippoldiswalde (Reichstädt height - photo stop). Turn left and take the path towards Gerberplatz. Here, turn right onto Reichstädter Street and follow it straight. On the right side is the multigeneration park Polypark. You have reached the starting point at Dippoldiswalde train station.
