Neukirchen: Bike trail Wildkogel

Start in the center of Neukirchen - past the church and the Hohenneukirchen castle - turn left at the Stockenbaum/Neuhaushof junction to the Gasthof Stockenbaum - continue along the forest road towards the middle station of the Wildkogelbahn or Bergeralm - the bike trail then leads to the valley station Gensbichlalm up to the top station Wildkogelbahn. The trail then runs from the top station Wildkogelbahn past the reservoirs to the top station Smaragdbahn. From there, the bike trail runs downhill past the Wildkogelhaus - the Walsbergalm - Leiten farm road to the museum in Bramberg am Wildkogel.

Mountain bike, helmet, some drinks, possibly a small snack

Please always watch out for oncoming cars when cycling.

Coming from the north (D, NL, ...): Munich - exit Kufstein south (vignette required) - St. Johann in Tirol - Kitzbühel - Pass Thurn - Mittersill - Bramberg/Neukirchen

Coming from the west (CH): Inntal motorway (A12: vignette required) - exit Wörgl East - St. Johann in Tirol - Kitzbühel - Pass Thurn - Mittersill - Bramberg/Neukirchen

Coming from the east: Vienna - Salzburg (A1: vignette required) - Bischofshofen - Zell am See - Mittersill - Bramberg/Neukirchen

Coming from the south (I, SLO): Tauern motorway (A10: vignette required) - exit St. Michael or exit Bischofshofen - Zell am See - Mittersill - Bramberg/Neukirchen

Gerlos Alpine Road
A day ticket for the Gerlos Alpine Road is included in the National Park Summer Card. 

Travel by the Pinzgau local railway to Mittersill or by ÖBB buses 670 to Neukirchen town center.
