Naturally… irresistible!
The Nature Park Route Thuringian Forest takes you to the most beautiful places. Experience the scenic panorama routes by car, motorcycle, or motorhome – during your vacation or as a day trip. Drive idyllic routes through the old cultural landscape in the green heart of Germany. Through narrow valleys, wide high plains, and mysterious forests – through historic towns and original villages. Experience how climate and landscape change in a very small area – from sunny, bright foothills through shady forests to the rugged peaks of the Rennsteig. Behind every curve await exciting impressions and spectacular views!
Naturally… full of experience!
We show you both the jewels and the hidden gems of the Thuringian Forest. Discover along the Nature Park Route Thuringian Forest the monumental Wartburg or the romantic Altenstein Castle. The legendary Dragon Gorge or the fairy-tale Feengrotten. Enjoy the almost southern flair at Eisenach, the spicy scent of the mountain meadows on the Rennsteig, and the lively splashing of the Werra. Let your gaze wander over the picturesque mountain ranges and mirror-smooth reservoirs. Admire ancient rock formations or discover the magical world underground.
The Nature Park Route Thuringian Forest also brings you to the forest people, the people who give the Thuringian Forest a face with their rugged but warm-hearted nature. Watch the glassmakers as they shape glowing lumps. Visit the herbal witches in the Olitätenland or go underground with the miners.
Naturally… iconic!
Ten times the Nature Park Route Thuringian Forest climbs over the mountain ridge and crosses the Rennsteig – the oldest and best-known German hiking trail.
At any time, there is the possibility to discover the diverse natural scenery of the Thuringian Forest on well-marked hiking and cycling trails.
