GeoRoute 6 – "Dinosaur Experience Trail" – UNESCO Global Geopark Thuringia Inselsberg - Drei Gleichen

Embark on your very own discovery journey through 300 million years of geological history. Within short distances, you will experience many geological features from different geological eras. In the heart of the Geopark, you will find 17 life-size dinosaur figures lining the path from Georgenthal over the Lohmühle to the Bromacker dinosaur site. Information boards along the way provide details about life and the environment at the time.

On the section from Bromacker to Tambach-Dietharz, you will learn a lot about the work of paleontologists. Models show how excavated dinosaur skeletons are uncovered, conserved, prepared, and finally reconstructed as life sculptures. Thus, it is a hiking, learning, and experience trail that is by no means just exciting for children.
