Kneipp terrain hiking trail -red

After starting at the Arenaris Kneipp facility, we walk through the Lauchagrund, past the Lutherbrunnen fountain to the small temple. From here, we walk through the Bärenbruch, along a small stream and through a rock formation below the Aschenbergstein to the Bärenbruch crossroads. From here, continue straight on until you reach the Lauchagrund and the Fünfarmiger Wegweiser rest area. From here, we walk along the summit and panoramic tour via the Gickelhahnsprung, Wildscheuer, Hexenbank and Neuer Weg refuge to the Zimmerberg refuge. Here we have a great view of Bad Tabarz. We continue downhill on the north side of the Zimmerberg and along the Schnepfenweg to reach the village again. Along the Friedensweg, past the Rennsteigklinik and the Märchenwiese meadow, we arrive at the Arenaris Kneipp facility.

You can reach Bad Tabarz by car via the BAB 4 exit Waltershausen. (between Eisenach and Gotha). After 7 km you will reach Bad Tabarz. There are parking spaces in the center and at the Tabbs leisure pool. There are also parking spaces in Lauchagrundstraße directly at the starting point of the tour.

Bad Tabarz is very easy to reach.

Take the train to Gotha main station. From there, take the Thuringian Forest Railway Line 4, which takes you on an interesting and leisurely ride through the foothills of the Thuringian Forest to the terminus at Bad Tabarz after approx. 45 minutes. If you already have a Bad Tabarz spa card, travel on the Waldbahn is free of charge.

At the entrance to Waltershäuser Straße (entrance at the ESSO petrol station) you will find a parking lot for hikers. This is located on the Benediktinerpfad (T4) and Panorama-Rundweg (T3) hiking trails.

There are further parking spaces in the town center behind the Sparkasse bank and in the Wandertreff area on Lauchagrundstraße.

You will find a large parking lot and motorhome parking space at the "tabbs" health spa.

There are a limited number of parking spaces directly at the starting point in Lauchagrundstraße.
