Between porphyry and dolomite: trekking with a view of Lagorai and Pale di San Martino - Day 3

DEMANDING ROUTE: from Rifugio Capanna Passo Valles, ascend along path No. 751 in the direction of Forcella Venegia following the Alta Via delle Dolomiti No. 2. Here a wonderful view opens up over the Venegia Valley, at the foot of the Pale di San Martino. On the other side, in the distance, you can admire the Cristallo, Pelmo and Civetta. Continue along path No. 751 in the direction of Rifugio Volpi al Mulaz, with sweeping views of the Falcade valley. The terrace of the mountain hut invites you to take a break and admire the rock faces and spires. From the hut, walk the last part of the path uphill (70 metres) to the Mulaz Pass. From here, on path No. 710 and 710A you descend into the Venegia Valley reaching the final part of Campigolo della Vezzana. From here, an easy forest road (with some shortcuts) leads to Baita Segantini, a very famous and photographed place. From here, the forest road (or path) downhill leads in 15/20 minutes to Capanna Cervino. (12.8 km - 1,030 metres of ascent - 984 metres of descent)

MIDDLE ROUTE: from Rifugio Capanna Passo Valles go up along path No. 751 towards Forcella Venegia following the Alta Via delle Dolomiti No. 2. Here a wonderful view opens up over the Venegia Valley, at the foot of the Pale di San Martino. On the other side, in the distance, you can admire the Cristallo, Pelmo and Civetta. From the Forcella we descend towards Val Venegia along path No. 749, passing beneath the imposing walls of the Pale di San Martino. We arrive at Campigol della Vezzana, where an easy forest road (with a few short cuts) leads to Baita Segantini, a very famous and photographed place. From here, the forest road (or path) downhill leads in 15/20 minutes to Capanna Cervino. (7.8 km - 480 metres of ascent - 435 metres of descent)

Everything needed for overnight stays in the mountain huts. 

Even if this trail is not technically difficult and has no dangerous stretches, we always and in any case suggest to follow the general rules on safety for mountain hikes.
