The Long Way of the Dolomites, Pieve-San Vito di Cadore
Úroveň náročnosti: S1
This itinerary connects San Vito di Cadore to Calalzo by crossing the heart of Central Cadore and the picturesque Boite Valley, partly following the route of the ancient Strada Regia, a historic trade...
The route unfolds among Dolomite landscapes, historic villages and evidence of Cadore culture, offering an experience that combines nature, history and local traditions. Along the way we pass through numerous municipalities of Central Cadore, encountering churches, scenic views, farms and typical restaurants where you can take a break and enjoy local products.
The itinerary is suitable for trained hikers and walkers accustomed to medium-length routes; thanks to the presence of connections and intermediate access points, however, it can also be tackled in several stages or in a shortened version, starting from Pieve di Cadore or San Vito di Cadore.
Particularly recommended is the detour to the archaeological area of Lagole, a place full of charm and historical evidence surrounded by nature. An ideal trek for those who wish to discover Cadore slowly, step by step.
It can be walked in either direction, starting from San Vito di Cadore or from Pieve di Cadore for those who wish to reduce the overall length of the trek. There are refreshment stops, farms and rest areas along the way. A detour to Lagole to visit the archaeological area and natural springs is recommended.
Áno
Hiking boots or shoes, light backpack, water, hat, sunscreen, windproof/waterproof jacket, energy snacks, trekking poles recommended. A GPS track of the route is useful.
Always check the weather forecast and trail conditions before setting out. Plan the hike according to your level of fitness and the length of the route, inquiring about refreshment stops and any water sources along the way.
