Above Pedavena, among the small villages of Norcen and the Val di Lamen, hides a corner of serenity that preserves intact the charm of Feltrina mountain. The hike to the Paradisi di Norcen is a route that...
The trail starts from the small square or the church parking lot in Norcen, gently ascending among dry stone walls and well-kept meadows, testimonies of a still lively agricultural tradition. After passing the hamlets of Valduna and Valerna, the path runs along the border of the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park, offering ever wider views of the valley.
Exiting the woods opens up the wonder of the Paradisi, a grassy basin nestled between Monte San Mauro and the Vette Feltrine, where time seems to slow down. Here stands the Fagheron dei Paradisi, the largest beech tree in the province of Belluno: a true natural monument silently overlooking a stone hut. Further ahead, a second monumental beech accompanies the path along the Chiesette pedemontane route, among hornbeams, maples, and ashes.
A half-day route, perfect for those seeking a panoramic and rewarding walk, immersed in autumn foliage and the quiet of Belluno mountain.
Hiking boots or trekking shoes, technical layered clothing, water, rain poncho or rain jacket.
The Fagheron of Paradisi is considered the largest beech tree in the province of Belluno: in autumn, it dresses in spectacular colors
The stone huts in the area are called "maiolere": they were rustic buildings used in agricultural activities and summer grazing as temporary shelters starting from May (hence the name, maiolera)
Given the presence of mixed woods and centuries-old beeches, this route is especially recommended in autumn to admire spectacular foliage!
