21 stained-glass windows invite you to live an initiatory experience to the smallest vineyard in the world. Created by Robert Héritier and Théo Imboden, these windows illustrate essential human values, values that move the world forward, such as: respect for childhood, the strength of family, love that gives and burns... and many other values up to death (and immortality?).
Designed by the Friends of Farinet, the route starts at Place Farinet, near the statue of the famous character. Along the way, you will cross the picturesque alleys of Saillon to its medieval village, voted the most beautiful village in Switzerland in 2013. The ascent continues on the sunny slopes leading to the vineyard at Farinet, recognized as the smallest registered vineyard in the world. A symbol of freedom and sharing, this vineyard has been harvested by many celebrities who have left their quotes and names in testimony.
At the arrival, enjoy an exceptional panorama of the Rhône valley and the Bayart Tower, an unforgettable moment of contemplation and serenity. For more information on the stained-glass windows and the vineyard at Farinet, we invite you to visit the site: lavigneafarinet.ch.
Starting point: the free parking at Place Farinet or the bus stop 311: Saillon Collombeyres. Take the paved road westwards (direction Fully) for 400 m. A path climbs through the vineyards to the right, towards the village. (If too steep, continue 250 m and turn right and climb the road Sous le Scex).
Enter the village through the Porte du Scex, pass in front of the Museum of Counterfeiting. At the crossroads, climb left along rue St Jacques up to the Porte de Fully, cross it and climb up to the last houses.
50 m after the fountain, take the steep path on the right. At the next intersection, follow the sign "Vigne à Farinet" pointing to the left. At the next crossing, take left again. After 100 meters on flat ground, turn left and climb under the covered passage to the 3 vines of the smallest vineyard.
To go back down, stay on the paved road.
