Cultural trail Ausserberg - Raron

The cultural trail between Ausserberg and Raron leads through a diverse Swiss natural, cultural, and sacred landscape. All nature lovers who are also interested in history will get closer to the culture, history, nature, and agriculture of the region here and can taste Valais specialties from the kitchen and cellar along the way. The hike, which is especially suitable for families, starts in Ausserberg and then always runs westwards to Raron. The first section of the route takes you along quiet water channels to St. German, where you can learn a lot about local wine (and of course also taste it). Alternatively, an additional loop via Heinischbiel, a pre-Christian settlement, is possible. On the now widening path, you can soak up a lot of sun, and after about an hour, you reach the castle church Raron, the burial site of Rainer Maria Rilke.
