Sulden lies in the middle of the National Park Stilfserjoch and belongs to the oldest holiday resorts of the Alps . 200 years ago, when the first hotels in the valley appeared, tourism was limited on to the summer months and discovering and climbing the famous summits around the Ortler.

The first winter sportsmen came soon appreciating the seclusion of the valley, the preferential height of 1900 m, and 300 days of sun at the Alpine south side. A lot has changed since then but not the tradition and the hospitality. Until today the small place at the foot of the majestic mountains has lost nothing of its charm

Our Sport & Activity Suite Hotel Gampen*** is located in Sulden, below the mighty mountain range of Ortler (3905m), Zebru, and Königsspitze, at an altitude of 1900m. With a hundred years of history it belongs to the mountaineer’s hotel with the richest tradition in Sulden. It is an ideal starting point for all activities in the Ortler region. The hotel Gampen was built in 1896 as hotel “Schneerose” and was ever since managed traditionally. Today’s name “Gampen” dates back to the 1930ies, to the “Gampenhöfe”, the first farm houses in Sulden.

Since summer 2009 we, the Reinstadler family, manage this small but nice hotel at the head of the Sulden valley. July 11, 2009, we could welcome our first Gampen guests.

The hotel has a splendid location, very close to the cable car and lies directly at a connecting ski slope. With moderate prices, really good food, and personal service we want to make the holidays as enjoyable as possible for long-standing and many new guests of the Gampen hotel.
