Winter at Haus Wasserbauer is a paradise for skiers, snowboarders and cross-country skiers alike.
With uncrowded slopes and numerous mountain huts to choose from for those well-earned Hot chocolates and Apfelstrudel, this is a world away from modern, soulless purpose-built resorts. Here, you will find traditional Alpine village hospitality to welcome you.

With a ski area totaling in excess of 150 km, a modern lift system and slopes to serve everyone from the most experienced through to those making their first tentative turns, the Hochkönig Winterreich in Salzburgerland offers you unique, family-friendly and varied ski areas.

Mühlbach am Hochkönig lies in a ‘snow pocket’ but if nature needs a hand, 97% of our regional slopes are covered by snow cannons. The Austrian Alps experience a different set of weather patterns to much of the rest of the European Alps, assuring good snow from the start of December through to April.

For those seeking the thrills and spills of jumping and riding rails, there are three snow parks to perfect your ‘Rodeo Flip’. Or if you fancy trying a ‘grab’ for the first time, there are also a number of smaller parks situated across the ski area.

For cross country skiers the Hochkönig Region offers 40 km of ski trails. We recommend the 7 km-long Panorama Trail on the Dientner Sattel between Dienten and Mühlbach for a truly unique experience.

Everyone loves Tobogganing and this is an Austrian tradition embraced by Haus Wasserbauer. We have two runs in the village, one behind the house (3.5 km long) and the other only a short walk away which is not for the faint hearted! This is a great activity for those seeking high spirited fun or a romantic trip and we have a small number of sledges available.
